Swings and Misses

posted by BH

Way to misjudge that Manny Ramirez fly ball last night, Lastings Milledge. WHERE'S YOUR VICTORY LAP AND HIGH FIVES NOW, BITCH!!

Michael Young was tossed from last night's Rangers/Giants affair. He threw his bat down after being called out on strikes to end the inning. This followed an arguement between home plate umpire Larry Young and Rangers catcher Rod Barajas, which was ignited after (Larry) Young called Brad Wilkerson out on strikes in the Rangers' previous at-bat. Mike Krukow argued that (Larry) Young was out of line in throwing (Michael) Young out of the game, using the age-old argument that people pay to see stars, not umpires. (Larry) Young had to throw (Michael) Young out of the game. Had he not, it woulf have been clear that (Larry) Young had lost conrol of the game. Poor assessment Part II: Krukow also argued that (Michael) Young was mad at himself, which necessitated the bat-throw. You can't throw a bat. Not in Little League, not in the Major Leagues. Secondly, what are the fans going to think? They don't think the bat-throw was a result of (Michael) Young's being mad at himself, especially after the altercation between Barajas and (Larry) Young. You can't show up an umpire. You can't show up an umpire. Let me repeat...YOU CAN'T SHOW UP AN UMPIRE.

What the hell was that lineup the Giants put out there? Who are these fucking guys?

God I'm glad the first base umpire blew that call of the first base foul line.

Tim Worrell should never, ever pitch in another game for the Giants. That's all I have to say about that.

What's it say that Armando Benitez was on the bench with the game on the line last night? Well, I guess we all know what it says. Prediction: Benitez gone by July 31st.

ESPN's Peter Gammons had an aneurysm yesterday. According to ESPN.com, Gammons is 61 years old. I thought he was at least 80. According t o ESPNnews, the network's "thoughts and prayers are with" Gammons and his family. Why do they always say this? I know you care about him. I don't care if your hate and poops are with him. It doesn't matter. Why do they say this?

All you need to know about the 2006 Giants is that they have on more than one occasion had a 3-4 combination of Mark Sweeney and Todd Greene. A career pinch-hitter batting third, and a career backup vagabond catcher batting fourth. If I ever see a lineup like that again, I may throw my dog through the tv. Isn't that like the Dodgers picking up Lenny Harris and Henry Blanco and batting them 3-4? Jesus.

That lineup last night was dreadful. WHY ARE YOU PLAYING VIZCAINO OVER FRANDSEN!? I just don't get it. And Ray Durham is still batting third? Coming into the night, the 1-2-3 hitters were hitting .260, .232, .240 respectively. That's atrocious.

Somebody needs to take Tim Worrell out of his misery. He's like a race horse with a broken ankle. It's so painful to watch at this point.

The Rangers were robbed last night. I know it happens to all teams, but that call in the ninth was deplorable.
