"Three years into war, the American people still don't have a clear picture of what's gone wrong in Iraq -- or how to set it right," said Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

Hey. Douchebag. I don't have to have a clear picture of what's going wrong in Iraq. Have you heard of representative democracy? It's this crazy thing where you, or presumably someone a little more interested in the betterment of my country rather than the welfare of the party, make decisions in my place so that I can try to make a living, because it's hard for me to get to Washington each day in order to debate decisions of national importance. Also, the picture may not be clear, but it's not as though there's a lack of information. I mean, aren't we constantly hearing about those things that have gone wrong in Iraq? I would also suggest we still don't have a clear picture of what's gone right. Finally, are you really interested in clearing things up? If that's your intention, then I have greatly misjudged you, Mr. Reid. I don't think I have though. I think maybe you've noticed that Bush's numbers have started climbing and you're in shit-yourself mode, having recognized that you might be in charge when the Democrats don't make the Senate and House strides that have been all but guaranteed.

Some would like to have a clearer picture of Iraq. We don't have to have one, but we would like one. At this point, I'm not quite sure how many of the original questions have been answered and frankly, we deserve to have answers from those who made the decisions to dive in like Greg Louganis at a gay bar. Hell, I vote for going into Venezuela next. I hear their President likes to call Bush "The Devil." Them there's war words right there, boy. Of course, I hope my comments are not taken as unpatriotic and unsupportive of the troops, because I would like it to be known that every human life is precious, even an embryo's... (side note: "human life" does not include Iraqi civilians).

I hate the election season. It's non-stop political rhetoric (like my sarcasm above) coming from both sides, Republicans and Democrats (or, as I heard it referred to on Fox News: "Moral Conservatives and Left-Wing Liberals" -- I really did hear those words while running on the treadmill on Special Report with Brit Hume.) It's all part of the unintentional comedy that plays out in front of us every year in October and November. Sadly, it takes intelligent people to get through the fog of rhetoric to make seemingly intelligent decisions. (Of equal sadness, our country is not filled with many intelligent people.)

(There are way too many parentheticals in this comment.)

What the hell kind of name is "Brit Hume" anyway? It's gotta be in the "Stone Phillips Hall of Fame" for broadcast journalists. Anderson Cooper is one middle name of "Powers" from entering as well.

I'm not saying people don't want to know what's going on over there. I fully want to know what's going on there, but I can't have a clear understanding if there is no clarity to be had. Plus, as I suggested yesterday, I don't need to have one. Harry Reid and other congressional hooptees need to have a clear picture. It's a fucking confusing situation, and for Reid to suggest that a Bush administration fuck-up is the reason for a lack of clarity in the Iraq situation, or that his inquiry is neccesary for me at all is crazy. Reid knows that a Democrat-led inquiry, which would certainly include only the leftist of the lefties, is going to turn up nothing but negative information on Iraq, oh by the way, helping Dems. I'd really like to see the Republican-led inquiry into the situation in Iraq. I would totally take that seriously.

This is Rock Thrustpower signing off from Fallujah.

Dan is a douche.
