I watched him pitch against the Rockies and he was throwing 88-89 (before his hamstring cramped up). The announcers were talking about how 88-89 was "low" velocity for Schmidt. I hate to break it to the Dodgers, but that's what he threw all last year and the end of 2005. He's been an 88-89 guy for a year and a half. Great scouting by the Dodgers.
So, um, maybe there is something wrong with Schmidty after all?
